Loyalty Application on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry

The Client

The client is a Loyalty and rewards solutions provider for Banks, Insurance companies and retailers. Through exclusive partnerships with over 200 banks and multiple card processors, the client analyzes the spending patterns of over 60 million credit and debit cardholders — over five billion transactions a year.

This access to spending habits of consumers enables the client to develop highly targeted marketing, rebate rewards, experiential benefits and editorial content that drive deeper customer relationships for the partners they serve. These dynamic, customized, turnkey programs which include marketing services, information technology and data analytics lead to increased customer loyalty, reduced attrition and a compelling way for banks, retailers and other businesses to differentiate themselves from the competition.

 

The Opportunity

With mobile technology becoming a vital aspect of consumer lives, the Client identified the opportunity to develop a unique and new way of reaching consumers. The Client partnered with Digital Sabre Solutions to execute their mobility strategy.

The debate on whether to develop a mobile browser optimized site or to create native mobile applications was swung in favor of the latter with the DSS team offering valuable insight on the pros and cons of each option. It was identified and recommended that in order maximize user adoption and to fully leverage on the capabilities of smart phones, the optimal solution would be to develop a native mobile app for the most popular platforms.

 

Execution


Digital Sabre set the road map to develop applications for the envisioned iPhone, Android and BlackBerry platforms. DSS developed a white label application as the base product, giving the Client the ability to easily re-brand the application by applying their partner’s corporate logo, images and XML changes to distribute the application as their own.

Users can download the application from the relevant app market places i.e. – App Store for iPhone etc.  Login credentials are given at the time of registration with the rewards program of the bank or retailer. A registration option is also provided where users will be redirected to a web page through which they can register for the program.

The application is integrated with the Client’s web based platform through an API. This gives the ability to target highly relevant offers to each user. Users can search for special offers by a zip code or key word. Featured promotions can be displayed depending on the user’s spending habits.

The application is capable of determining a user’s location through the phone’s GPS feature. It can then display the offers that are closest to your current location through a ‘Show What’s Near Me’ option. It can also give you directions how to get there.
