SaaS App to Drive Internal Efficiencies and Enhance Service Offering to Clients of a Consulting Company.
The Background and Business Problem
The Consultancy had a set of Access DB based systems that were used in client engagements to monitor progress of Organizational Business Objectives and corresponding human capital Initiatives to fulfill those Business Objectives. These Legacy Applications had well outgrown their lifespan and was becoming harder to maintain. Some of the key issues that the Client was facing included -
- Inability to collect data on time and the accuracy of data
- Lack of transparency across initiative owners, Consultants and other Organizational stakeholders
- Tedious work required to process raw data into strategic and operational information; severely affecting the effectiveness of the Consultant‟s recommendations.
The Blue Printing Process
A Software-as-a-Service based Web Application would provide the ideal answer to these challenges. Digital Saber engaged with the client to create the Blueprints of Stratus TMS, a SaaS based Application that would replace the Access based systems and would embed proprietary management techniques. The client would then take this App to market as a ‟stand-alone‟ Product aswell as a complimentary tool to their core consulting business. A Business Analyst from DSS worked closely with the Client to map out the product vision, capturing complex IP based practices that needed to be reflected in the system. The development of the Systems Requirement Specification (SRS) during this phase helped the Client to crystalize product requirements andsolidify the Product road-map.
